2007 Honda Reflex Review

I currently have a Suzuki S40 but miss the automatic scooter riding design. I was interested in in 07 Honda reflex 250 cc scooter was curious what other people thought about that scooter and about changing from the bike down to the scooter. The Reflex seems to have quite a few very good reviews

I'd bet you would like it but you'll have to endure the jokes about scooters. To me it's still 2 wheels and knees in the breeze. The hazards of the road don't change just because you ride a scooter. Test ride one if you haven't already. If you like the way it rides and you feel good riding it then trade. You are the only one that can make that call.

Is it the riding position or shifting the manual transmission that you're not comfortable with? Honda has a few bikes with automatic transmissions that you might be interested in. They've been out for several years and you can find a few used ones now too.

Well I've always liked the look of the Honda and Suzuki scooters. I had a small 150cc scooter as my first "bike" . Enjoyed it but it was underpowered. It's not that I did like my Suzuki s40. Just always had an eye for the reflex/burgman styles .

I had a new 2003 Reflex 250 ABS and it was a fine scooter. If I remember correctly, it got over 60 mpg, would easily cruise the interstates and topped out at about 85 mph. It had good storage and that good Honda reliability.
I've had lots of scooters, in fact, I just sold a 2012 Burgman 650 ABS and still have a 2007 B650 and I enjoy riding scooters for the fun factor as much as any bike I've had.

A 250cc scooter is probably ideal as a commuter. I owned a 2007 Piaggio BV250 for several years that I had bought new and put over 11,000 kms on the odometer. It was great on gas, and had enough storage to hold my helmet, gloves, light jacket, etc. I added a small Givi case to the rear rack and never once had an issue. I'd still have it but sold it in favor of a 2009 Yamaha TMAX. This one does everything the Piaggio did, but in a larger package. For stop and go city traffic, nothing beats a fully automatic scooter.

I had the predecessor to the Reflex, the Honda Elite 250. It was a great around-town scooter. It would do highway speeds, but barely.
Mine had 15,000 miles on it and I ended up replacing almost everything on it, shocks, clutch, variator, tires, throttle, brakes....
It was more than capable of an occasional short trip out of town and a great grocery-getter with the milk crate bolted to the back.

The Honda Reflex has a 249cc liquid cooled single cylinder 4 stroke engine and has a top speed of about 75-80 mph and a comfortable cruising speed of 60-65 mph.

I agree with hogcowboy. You are the one who is going to ride it, if you are comfortable, you can go for it.

I've had my eye on the Honda PCX-150 myself. Bigger wheels and even though it's only a 150, it's more than capable of long distance rides.

A friend of mine started on an S40 and she rode the bejeezus out of it. She chose that bike because she's a very small framed woman and the height was right for her, as was the weight, and she was able to learn quickly and gain a lot of confidence riding.

That scooter looks very comfortable with some nice storage though. Scooters get such a bad rap. Seems to me their riders face the same dangers and still have knees in the breeze. Or maybe not. Does that fairing protect the rider from ALL wind? It does look like if you added another rear wheel you would have a Stallion.

The fairings were great on the scooter. Plus I had the taller wi dshield so there wasnt much wind hitting me when id be out on the roads. Storage was great as well.

A lot of us got into riding because it was FUN!!!! I believe it should still be fun, even after my 54 years of Street riding and 81 motorcycles/ scooters
My past and present Suzuki Burgman 650's, my past Yamaha T-Max 500, my past Aprilia Atlantic 500 and all of the other scooter's have been as much or even more fun than my current bikes or those in the past.
What's not to like: A HUGE and comfortable seat, fantastic storage, great wind protection, extreme ease of operation with the 'automatic CVT' transmission, ABS brakes on some, easy normal maintenance and in the case of the larger Maxi scooters, the ability to wipe the 'Smirk' off of the face of the 'scooter' doubters on any road at any time, with a good rider.
I used to ride my new little Yamaha 50cc ZUMA, 2 stroke scooter the 12 miles to work and back and smiled all the way! I also rode my 2,400cc Triumph Rocket 3 Roadster to work and back and smiled all the way! Whatever makes one happy:tongue:

Having not ridden either, is the Burgman not as quick as the Maxi or is that one in the same? I know nothing of the scooter world as you can see. It's a shame really that some(most maybe) motorcyclist look down on scooters. They face the same dangers after all.
